Position Title: Data Manager, 9352 Function: Responsible for developing and managing computerized databases for multiple research studies.
Scope: Responsible for data management and all aspects of quality assurance for multiple research studies.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Develops and manages computerized databases appropriate to the design of various research studies. Develops and maintains systems for transferring QDS data to the format of various statistical programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS). Develops and maintains systems for the coding, editing and computer entry of data for assigned research studies. Performs and assists in the entry of research data into computerized databases. Responsible for Quality Assurance checks on various studies and various datasets. Designs and maintains management reports on the databases for various research studies. Adapts, implements and maintains acquired database software most appropriate for the needs of various research studies. Works closely with Systems Analyst in the Department to download and manipulate very large data files from the server. Assists with descriptive and exploratory statistical analyses. EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree with a major in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Five years of experience in database design and management. With preferred degree, three years of experience is required. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred: Experience in behavioral science or cancer prevention research. Experience with Microsoft Access.
Supervised by Principal Investigator(s), Co-Investigators, Project Director, Research Manager, Department Chair and Department Administrative Leadership.
