Position Description
The primary responsibility is for accurate and timely processing of Material Master data including data review and validation, manual data processing, uploading data files in SAP, support and management of product lifecycle status codes and completing and maintaining other regional field updates as requested. Position will work closely with business unit Local Data Administrators and other data support functions to ensure collection of data is accurate and issues are resolved on a timely basis.
Position Responsibilities
Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of product data while meeting the established service level agreement for processing material master records. Review and upload material master data files from various groups into SAP using various software tools and programs. Complete data setup and maintenance in SAP and/or EPR. Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality, Global Central Data Administration and Regional Data Administrators to ensure full knowledge of and compliance to global data quality standards, policies and procedures. Research and resolve and validate material master issues and discrepancies to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Escalate issues as necessary. Facilitate training and collection of all required data to complete specific Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) strategies for each of the business units. Support the businesses and other cross functional teams within the Americas geography to sustain ongoing working relationships. Identify process improvements in the department or function to maintain efficiency and consistency. Assist with new SAP implementations, including but not limited to testing, data cleansing activities, process and procedures. Provide technical assistance and expertise to data management group. Create adhoc reports using BW, BO and/or access to analyze, validate and correct data to ensure accuracy
Basic Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION 5+ years of IT or related experience with BA or BS; 3+ years of IT or related experience with MA or MS. Knowledge of sales and distribution systems (SAP preferred) and ability to make decisions based on the understanding of other business processes and how material master data is used. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE 5+ years of IT or related experience SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Strong attention to detail to identify data errors and inconsistencies Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong communication skills, ability to communicate professionally in difficult situations Experience with analytical and documentation tools, Excel, MS Access, Visio, PowerPoint, SAP, Business Objects and BW
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Previous SAP Material Master or general SAP experience Very good understanding of material master data and how it is used within other MDT applications Goal oriented, task driven decision-making with a strong sense of accountability. Focused on improving productivity, profitability and business processes Product/Industry knowledge Experience working in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with bills of material, routings, work center and how they function in an ERP system Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. General business knowledge, acumen Ability to quickly master new technologies
