Data Modeler/Analyst/Admin NYC 24 months Please send resumes to Steve Chiarello at SUMMARY: The Data Modeler partners with end users/client personnel to translate business needs into a data model that will be the basis for a solution that closely aligns with the business requirements. Data Modelers are skilled in the repetitive process of refining data into precise data models which specify entities, attributes and relationships between the data. Data Modelers create the conceptual and logical data models and assist the database administrator with the translation of the logical model into a workable physical model. They interact with end users/client personnel via non-technical language to validate the data model using the users frame of reference. They also interact with the programmers to understand their data processing needs and assist them with the design of data transformation, data extract, data views and Stored procedures. REQUIRED: 5+ years of experience data modeling (conceptual, logical & Physical) 3+ years of industry experience (optional) Expert knowledge of data normalization Able to participate or lead business discovery sessions with the end users Effective understanding of MS SQL/Server capabilities, shortcoming and applicability Able to provide effective mentorship Excellent communications skills Proven track record Key skills include: Relational Data modeling; Data modeling tools Business data understanding Data mapping Operational data model knowledge Data dictionary Training Test planning and execution DB2 DB2 Connect MS SQL/Server DTS/Data Stage MS Office DESIRED: Understanding of the SIF data model Data Warehouse Modeling BizTalk
