Title: Data Modeler / Business Analyst Location: BC-Vancouver We have an opening in our Vancouver office for a Data Modeler / Business Analyst / Report Writer who will be responsible for designing and implementing reporting capabilities on top of our Hadoop / Hive data warehouse. The role will include: * Interfacing with Activision business units and studios to create requirements documentation to guide data warehouse development. * Building and maintaining data models across multiple titles. * Build standardised Microstrategy reports and support Microstrategy end users. * Deliver ad-hoc reporting where standardised reporting falls short. These are the qualities and experience we look for in the ideal candidate: * A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent program * Relevant experience (3 years) in data architecture, business analysis and core ETL principles. * Experience in analytical dashboard delivery, Microstrategy preferred. * Proven ability to factor requirements into design and implementation. * Excellent SQL (3 years) * Experience with database design, specifically around Kimball and Inmom data warehouse theory. * Experience with Linux/Unix * Strong skills in statistics and analytics * Has initiative, and is able to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision * Proven documentation skills * Previous experience with data warehousing systems is essential * Previous experience with Hadoop and/or Hive is desirable * General purpose scripting skills, especially Python, are desirable.
