Your Opportunity at Intuit: POSITION SUMMARY: The DBA assists all teams end to end to design and deploy a scalable database solution to provide an excellent customer experience. This is a senior design role that requires an in depth analysis of requirements to determine the best solution including but not limited to database technology selection, high availability clustering and data modeling. The Senior DBA is involved end to end: analyze requirements, design solution, build solution, train support staff, and deploy solution. The Senior DBA is engaged for different products across different business segments but must maintain an enterprise wide view of data as an asset.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: . Assignments are of a complex nature requiring technical knowledge and experience to develop and implement solutions. . Maintain integrity and reliability of data and databases through the development of data models and standards. . Work with business analysts, product managers, architects, engineers and developers on a complete database solution. . Work with developers to optimize schema design and SQL statement design. . Contribute to product development within the SDLC framework. . Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. . Train Operations production support teams including System DBA on new product releases.
Your Talents: QUALIFICATIONS: . Minimum of 5 years experience in Relational Database Administration with at least 2 years in a development role and at least 2 years in a production support role. . Relational database administration experience is required (At least one of the following: Oracle, Informix and SQL Server). . Experience with data modeling tools required. ER/Studio preferred. . Database administration experience in an ASP model is preferred, along with experience on mid to large-scale, distributed web architectures utilizing ASP technologies. . Experience with current Internet Technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, XML, HTTP, HTTP, DHTML, Application Servers, etc.) . Experience with Unix/Linux. AIX/Red Hat preferred. . Experience with C++, Java and/or other object oriented programming languages is a plus.
