Database Administrator (DB2) Location: Montgomery , AL Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt Employment Type: Full Time Department: ALDOT Duties: Duties will encompass participating in the design, creation, implementation and maintenance of DB2 objects, such as databases, tablespaces, tables, indexes, triggers, collections, plans, packages, procedures, etc. Also capacity planning, performance analysis and tuning, troubleshooting problems, backup and recovery, security, monitoring growth and clustering of DB2 datasets and setting up reorg jobs as needed for mission critical database systems. Must be skilled in setting up and running various DB2 utilities such as Runstats, Image Copies, Reorgs, Rebuild indexes, Recover tablespace, Dsn1copy, Unload and Loads, etc.
Qualifications: Must be highly skilled in performing DB2 database administration duties on the Z/OS Mainframe platform and possess a solid understanding of relational database systems--Demonstrated experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, capability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, ability to work closely and co-operatively with small groups, proficiency in troubleshooting and problem resolution. Must be willing to work with other DBAs and mentor them as needed by transferring knowledge when necessary.
Education: BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical field plus five years DB2 DBA experience or eight (8) years experience plus ability to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience: Minimum five years
