Position Summary: The Role:
Red Hat is seeking a Database Administrator in Pune, India.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Installation of oracle 10g and higher versions, configuring and maintenance. - Maintenance and monitoring of the oracle 9i/10g and higher version databases. - 24x7 production support. - Oncall once in a month on weekends . - Database tablespace re-org. - Installing Oracle 10giAS , configuring , maintenance and monitoring. - Oracle E-business Suite 11i [11.5.10] patching, cloning and monitoring. - Works closely with other members of DBA Team, Application Development and Technical Operations teams to identify and implement continuous improvement, new or enhanced measurement reports and effective problem resolution - Raising tars with oracle support and apply the bug fixes provided by them. - Establishes and implements Application Infrastructure policies, procedures and standards, and ensures their conformance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience on oracle 9i /10g` or higher database installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting. - Minimum of 2 years experience in installation, upgrade, migration, - Cloning, patch application, troubleshooting technical issues and documentation of Oracle E-business Suite 11i( 11.5.8 or higher) on Unix platforms - Strong written and verbal communications skills - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field - Strong Unix skills are required, preferably Linux - Good shell scripting skills. - Working knowledge of Multi-master Replication a plus - Certified DBA a plus but not required. - Should have technical ability and self initiative to learn and implement new concepts in a short amount of time. - Must be able to work independently. - Must have extremely good problem resolution skills. - Must be self-motivated and have the ability grow their own skills. - Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, applications users and other technical groups.
