Database Administrator/Developer



Title:Database Administrator/Developer

Location: Dulles, VA

Travel:Infrequent; Local, if necessary

Clearance:TS/SCI with polygraph (only CI required)

Summary:Serve as the primary interface for all Oracle DBMS Operational Issues. Although you would serve as the primary interface, you would be supported by additional staff in the execution of the following core activities. In addition, our team would provide the necessary support to gain sufficient knowledge to effectively perform these functions.


* Perform daily monitoring of databases at multiple locations (including factory DEV/test instances)


* Review database logs for anomalies and systems logs



* Backup Execution/Monitoring

* Performance Tuning

* Capacity Planning

* Replication Monitoring (Oracle streams and application-based replication)

* Design/Development of PL/SQL code (to address DRs identified in operation and prioritize for resolution)

* Maintenance existing DBMS-centric software baseline

* Support in planning, design, and development of new DBMS-centric capabilities

* Application, testing, and documentation of database upgrades and IAVA patches (as prioritized through O&M management process)

* Assisting developers on DBMS usage guidelines, improvements in logic, etc…




Required Skills/Experience:


* 4 or more years of hands on Oracle DBA or DBMS development experience

* In-depth knowledge of Oracle RDBMS internals

* Experience with DBMS installation, configuration, upgrading/patching

* Experience with development and debugging of PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and anonymous blocks

* Linux OS

* Adept at completing Oracle administration/development tasks via command line (no GUI, dbconsole, EM, etc.)

* SQL analysis/tuning

* Strong troubleshooting skills

* Able to work independently
