Role Description: Dell Analytics Business Unit is looking for high powered Data Analysts to support Online Analytics function for Dell. The role provides an opportunity to enter the exciting world of Web-Analytics and contribute significantly to the success of e-Dell - one of our key strategic pillars. Selected Analysts will work on reports reviewed by senior Dell stakeholders (VP, Directors and Senior Managers in Online CSMB) and crucial to the success of key e-Dell initiatives. Analyst will drive value by a) developing new datasets & reports (b) maintaining existing data/ reports (c) Performing adhoc analysis as required by the business (d) Supporting significant & high impact analytics projects. Analysts will get exposure to an array of high-power analytical tools including Online Analytics tools such as Site Catalyst, Insights/ Visual Sciences, Discover etc. Principal Accountabilities: The analyst will typically contribute 50-60% of his time i developing and producing reports. This will include process design and optimization of existing processes. In addition the analyst will be required to understand the business model and support analytics projects (20-25%). Adhoc requirements would need to be fulfilled from time to time as well (20-25%) Scope: Work independently with internal Dell stakeholders - typically Senior Online Managers/ Directors located in US/EMEA/APJ and Analysts across Dell. Complexity: Complex analytical work. Analyst would be wholly responsible for driving value in the area of responsibility.
* Key skill set requiredis extensive experience on SQL server 2000/2005/2008 and related tools like SSIS, SSAS, DTS, OLAP.
Should be ready to learn new tools and techniques required for the job, should be able to display strong IHP and an analytical mindset - The job will require the ability to understand business situations and provide data backed analysis.
Further, the candidate will be required to communicate actively within teams and with counterparts across US/ EMEA and APJ. Hence good communication skills are required - verbal & written.
