POSITION SUMMARY The IT Manufacturing team is looking for a Database Architect / Developer to lead in the design and development of new and existing database solution. RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: * Have an end-to-end vision - see how a logical design will translate into one or more physical databases/data structures, and how the data will flow through the successive stages involved * An enquiring mind with the ability to abstract general principles from specifics * Ability to work independently to explore and recommend varied strategies and solutions * Advanced knowledge of industry leading database architecture and internals, data modeling, and data extraction is mandatory * Data Analysis, Data Modeling, Data Integration, Data Cleansing, Data Warehousing, Database Design, Data Migration, Multidimensional Databases, Object Databases, etc. * Thought leader that likes to look at the bigger picture but be involved throughout (details too) - Hands-on oriented with programming experience * Determines requirements and functional specifications required of the data model and associated architecture * Proven ability to be able to design, develop, and maintain Databases, Data Warehouses, and extraction queries (Relational/Multidimensional/Non-Relational Databases) * Ensure DB solution meets business and system needs * Responsible for Data architecture and data modeling * Provide database development support to Data Services and Web Development teams * Produce ad-hoc queries for reporting support * Maintain technical documentation for developed solutions * Interact with a variety of teams to form an understanding of business and data rules * Actively support client projects providing subject matter expertise on client databases ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences or related field (or comparative College diploma) * Minimum of 10 years experience working with Oracle SQL databases * Strong knowledge of data architecture and data modeling * Solid understanding of RDBMS principles, design and normalization * Experience with Web Services & .Net * Experience writing complex SQL statements, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions (UDF), views, and triggers * Understanding of full development life-cycle methodology and version control * Flexibility - demand can be cyclical in nature and the successful candidate must be ready to put in an extra effort at peak times * Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
