L-3 STRATIS has an immediate need in Annapolis Junction, MD to add an experienced Senior Database Engineer for part-time work on the OCEANSURF Program. You will be working on the TTO as a senior member of the Database Engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for PL/SQL development, database architecture, and data modeling for a multi-tiered software application. The application contains a custom-built PL/SQL API which is used by the Java tiers to interact with the database. The database engineering team is responsible for maintenance and active development on this API as well as the underlying data structure. Experience in PL/SQL software architecture and performance tuning is required. Experience with database-driven web applications is highly desired. Ability to work with a Java development team on database-related issues, JDBC, connection pooling, and troubleshooting is highly desired. Must be capable of leading a team of engineers and setting direction for database architecture and PL/SQL software design. Oracle technologies that are in use and/or highly desirable for a candidate to have worked with are: Label Security (OLS), Text Indexes, FGAC, Streams, RAC, Data Guard (Physical Standby). Required:
A minimum of 13 years experience in developing applications for and providing life cycle support to databases. BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline = 3 years experience. MS in Engineering or Computer Science = 2 years experience. (OS DBE3 Template)
