Desktop Prep Technician
· 1 – 2 years of experience or equivalent education in the computer technology field
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to work independently
· The desire to wkork in a specific role within a well-defined process
· The ability to follow a defined process to achieve the desired result
· Basic knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals
· Working knowledge of Windows XP
· Experience with Windows 7
· Experience with Mac OS X
· Basic working knowledge of MS Office 2007
· Familiar with computer imaging software or concepts. Ghost, LANDesk, Altiris
· Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly
Day to Day responsibilities:
· Imaging Computers
· Pre-deployment set up
· Creating Help Desk tickets as appropriate
· Loaner Computer Tracking
· Organizing Computers, Monitors peripherals for deployment
· Organize returning paperwork
· Decommissioning old hardware
· Removing and Securing old drives
· Wiping data from recovered drives
· Keeping UD Tech and prep area organized and clean
· Occasional deployment pickups from customers
· Receiving equipment (Under direct supervision of Harvard employee)
· Performing inventory check (Under direct supervision of Harvard employee)
