Our Edmonton client requires a Desktop Support Analyst to join their team for this long term contract.

Start Date: February 2012
End Date: December 2012 (strong possible extension)

You will use your previous experience along with an excellent customer service focus to excel in this role and will be accountable to:

* Resolve technical support issues that cannot be resolved via telephone by Help Desk phones team.
* Maintain an acceptable level of technical knowledge on our company's applications and services.
* Maintain technical expertise and knowledge regarding upgrades and new hardware and software brought into the company.
* Analyze, document, and escalate critical issues to appropriate support groups.
* Proactively review calls through our Remedy support system.
* Monitor and ensure timely escalation of customer issues to internal organizations or vendors. Collaborate with other IT departments on assigned projects and issues.
* Diagnose and repair hardware problems, set up, configure and test equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and install upgrades and options.
* Install Operating system and configure PC's according to company standards for deployment
* Work is completed with some supervision.

Requirements for Role:

* 2+ years of related experience.
* The ability to lift/carry/move weights up to 50lbs.
* Ability to stand, stoop, bend and kneel within small quarters.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain a friendly, professional relationship with end clients.
* May hold Industry Certifications such as A+, MCP, MCDST, MCSE and will have graduated from a recognized post secondary program such as NAIT, Grant MacEwan Community College.
* Able to troubleshoot technical issues.
* Excellent knowledge of Windows XP / Windows 7.
* Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
* An understanding of email clients and email systems.
* Knowledge of automated software deployment methods would be an asset.
* Strong PC Hardware knowledge and skills.
