Job Description
The Desktop Support Technician will provide technical desk side support for an extremely diverse biomedical research institute consisting of 3500 users in a Windows/Macintosh environment. This is a challenging job working with state of the art computing equipment and world class researchers. The Desktop Support Technician will install, troubleshoot, and perform minor repair on desktop and laptop equipment and accessories. The technician may also solve users' routine problems with network or applications software. As part of the Customer Services team, the technician will also staff the central service desk, as needed, providing basic phone support and routing tickets.

We are looking for an individual with experience in various aspects of networking, desktop support and Windows 2000/XP. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to work well with demanding users and enjoy working in a challenging environment.

Required Skills
Computer Systems: PC
Operating Systems: Windows 2000, XP
Strong customer service skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong desire to learn new technologies

Desired Skills
Experience or knowledge of Apple Macintosh OS
A+ Certification

Requires a High School diploma or GED
