Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) Oracle DBA/Developer/Analyst
Position Summary: Position will provide technical support for the operation of the US Coast Guard DGPS Product Line missions to monitor the database(s) for performance, reliability and stability of the Database used by DGPS.
Position Description: This position requires Intermediate level, 4+ years Oracle DBA experience equivalent in order to provide support, system maintenance support, and installation support to the US Coast Guard DGPS Product Line for all DGPS computer hardware and operating systems (OS), and DGPS network equipment.
Responsibilities: The incumbent will perform provide (DGPS) technical support services for software and database development, upgrades, maintenance and data warehouse/data mart for the NCS system. He will also provide technical expertise for software development and system support teams on all database related matters including development, upgrades, performance, backup, recovery and administration. Research and provide recommendations in report form for equipment technical refresh for system lifecycle sustainment.
Minimum Qualifications: * 4+ years Oracle DBA experience, PL/SQL programming experience, and troubleshooting experience. * 10 years experience in providing engineering support, system maintenance support, and installation support to the US Coast Guard DGPS Product Line for DGPS computer hardware and operating systems (OS), and DGPS network equipment. * Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience. * Active Secret Clearance Required.
Preferred Qualifications: * Specific direct experience with and knowledge/familiarity of: Star schemas, Data warehouse design, ETL processing, Oracle Streams, * Database tuning maintenance of data on DGPS control station systems installed at US Coast Guard C3CEN and NAVCEN and support for remote computer and network equipment at DGPS broadcast sites.
