Directs the planning, design, installation, and on-going administration of computer server systems, LAN/WAN Networks and Telecommunication Systems * Establishes procedures for systems and network architecture and administration - Responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the Server Systems and Networks: - Evaluates current and projected hardware and software needs - Plans, coordinates and schedules feasibility studies and surveys, including economic justifications of proposed v. existing equipment and procedures - Serves as liaison with vendors and other third party providers * Directs the installation, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of telecom systems and services. - These voice communication systems include telephone applications, wireless technologies etc. - Establishes overall management strategy and procedures for telecom systems operation.
Project Management * Controls the activities related to planning and implementation of a variety of IT related systems. - Evaluates vendor products in light of Sourcefire's needs - Interacts with end users to determine needs - Evaluates progress and results regarding group's activities and goal attainment * Confers with appropriate managers * Communicates status of projects to senior management - Recommends, plans, and implements application changes as needed
Technical Support * Oversees and monitors the activities of Sourcefire's technical support staff. - Conducts analyses and prepares reports on progress, work trends, and problems - Evaluates and develops help desk programs and policies - Advises support staff concerning administrative procedures, technical problems, and priorities

Education and Work Experience * Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree desirable * Requires 12 or more years computer systems experience * Requires 8 or more years of management experience Specialized Knowledge and Skills * Knowledge of computer operations management, policies and procedures * Extensive technical knowledge spanning Linux Server Systems, Cisco Networking Products, Web Development Methodologies and programming languages etc. * Knowledge of current trends in Information Technology * Effective interpersonal skills to work as a team member Organizational Development * Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with team members * Shares acquired skills with team members through formal and informal channels * Encourages more junior employees to take responsibility for their development within the company * Participates regularly in the recruitment of new hires through our interviewing process and involvement in recruiting events * Actively contributes to internal programs Work Environment and Physical Demands * General office environment * Considerable stress may occur at times * Minimal physical demands required Sarbanes Oxley For Sarbanes-Oxley compliance all key IT controls have a control owner assigned.
