The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and executing the software development roadmap, consolidating and organizing our development and qa processes and formulating a strategic software engineering architecture.
Responsibilities:
Strong background in mult-tier web applications, high transaction web sites, web services (SOAP and REST), and SOA methodologies Hands on management of on and off shore teams spanning multiple countries and regions ; Ability to manage multiple resources across timezones to ensure successful delivery of the product Understanding of building message based infrastructures using technologies such as MOM, JMS, AMQP or other middleware stacks with products such as Tibco EMS, MQ Series , Apache ActiveMQ Ability to understand and build a scalable infrastructure to support the application suite leveraging industry best practices such as caching, database sharding Strong hands-on experience in both dynamic and Java languages and frameworks such as Ruby/Jruby and Rails, Spring, Hibernate Background in managing and working in an Agile environment using methodologies such as Scrum and XP; Ability to execute on their core principles and ensure development team follows/understands them Ability to be a strong technical leader to the development team; establishing processes and automation such as build automation, continuous integration, and ongoing qa/development processes Strong background working with RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL Deep understanding of building an SOA model and underlying principles Understanding of multimedia, video and integration of these capabilities into a modern web 2.0 application using technologies such as Flash, Ajax, DHTML Integration of mobile technologies into a web application with platforms such as iPhone, Android and Blackberry (J2ME)
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Seven or more years working with modern development languages such as Java, Actionscript, Ruby, Python Five or more years working with a relational database as either a DBA or Developer with either Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL Ability to understand how to build a scalable web applications, across multiple datacenters 3+ years working with Agile development methodologies such as XP or Scrum
