Position Responsibilities
The Director of Infrastructure Technology (IT) has overall responsibility for ensuring the best use of IT technology and the interoperability of all systems in order to advance the goals and mission of the business. The position plays an advisory role regarding IT strategic direction and future growth. The position consults with operations and engineering to suggest improvements in monitoring & management, automation, efficiency, and delivering on technology projects. In carrying out the responsibilities for the position, the position will: . Provide executive level advice to operations and engineering staff by encouraging risk taking, collaboration, teamwork, efficiency and excellence in customer focused support and services. . Provide strategic leadership for technology plans and implementations in support of IT initiatives. . Provide strategic and tactical leadership for monitoring, management, and automation capabilities, plans, and implementations. . Advocate, promote and encourage the use of IT by employees and partners in support of the overall business mission. . Compile, analyze, and report data and make appropriate recommendations related to operational service levels. . Participate in and contribute to internal and business wide technology meetings. Works in collaboration with other technology leaders to develop and implement appropriate benchmarking and continuous improvement strategies related to the provision and supply of information technology. . Maintain current knowledge of technology, computing applications, and information resource trends through reading, seminars and conferences attendance, and other communication with vendors and professional colleagues. Position Requirements
Job Requirements . Minimum of 5 years of information systems / data center infrastructure technology leadership in a complex, multi-vendor/multi-platform environment. . Minimum of 4 years of configuring, managing, or supporting infrastructure management, monitoring, automation tools, and associated policies and procedures. . Successful implementation of major IT or Information Systems initiatives, including experience with overcoming technical and man-made obstacles. . Experience with organizing, prioritizing and managing competing tasks and requests. . Excellent written & verbal communication skills. . Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with Sr. management across all stakeholders. Preferences . Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Information Systems, or Communications. . Experience providing services with a data center outsourcer or MSP. . Experience with NOC, customer service, or service desk best practices. . Experience developing, documenting, and socializing business management processes. . Experience with ITIL, ISO 9000, TQM, or other Industry Standard process management solutions. . Experience with industry standard information security practices.
