Reporting to the VP of Infrastructure and Operations, the Director of IT will oversee multiple operational teams that support the enterprise services, middleware environment and enterprise DBA team that supports Oracle and SQL databases. They will perform vendor management for designated environments.This position will set strategic direction for the department, will maintain appropriate headcount and manage budgets and have responsibility to maintain a stable and reliable environment.The Director will bring strong leadership skills to a team of 50+, but will still be a hands-on working leader.Our ideal candidate will bring excellence in implementing effective governance, delivering enterprise applications initiatives and providing high quality end user support.
Specific responsibilities:
Planning, implementation, operation and support of technology infrastructure including communications, server and storage platforms, networks and user infrastructure. Research and evaluate technical solutions to enhance system operations and service delivery methods is key.
Incident and problem management including end-user support.In alignment with business objectives, you will deliver technical services to the organization in an expedited, high quality and cost effective manner, and provide creative technical solutions to business problems, working with various teams to identify and understand challenges from a technical perspective.
Collaborate in developing strategies to gain competitive advantage and product/service differentiation through the application of innovative technologies and technological processes.Develop long term plans and architectures aligned with business needs. Maintaining the existing infrastructure in a safe, secure and reliable manner is an equally critical responsibility.
Negotiate with vendors and consultants to obtain services and support for the infrastructure environment.
Provide a range of IT business services for the VP including performance, financial and human resources management.
Ensure our systems are highly reliable and scalable to allow rapid changes and additions as necessary.
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have:
A BA/BS in Computer Science and/or related area.A Master’s degree is preferred.
7+ years in a technical leadership role, with at least 3+ years in an executive leadership role in a mid to large size corporation.
Demonstrated record of partnering with senior executives to understand complex business problems and successfully apply appropriate technologies.
Exceptional project and resource management skills.
A strong balance between technical expertise and process orientation that will ensure the most expedient delivery of new products and implementation of development based business solutions.
Strong experience in continuous improvement initiatives throughout Infrastructure focused on operational efficiency, service quality, and governance/compliance.
Proven ability to implement operational metrics and translate those metrics to process improvement initiatives.
Possess the proven ability to motivate individuals to perform at high levels with positive results
Demonstrated ability to interpret customer requirements/needs and implement a solution that is efficient and acceptable by all
Posses unquestionable ownership for delivering service and meeting business objectives
Proven ability to remove barriers / obstacles in order to meet stated goals and objectives
