The Director, Product Management will provide and establish the key strategic direction of the suite of product offerings that targets various segments of the market to provide operational stability, availability and security.
This role will drive a team of product and market focused product managers to map out the strategic plans and roadmap for the product suite for the Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) business team.
All product management resources responsible for applications will report directly to this position, including domestic and international resources. This position will be required to attend and contribute to senior staff meetings and key planning meetings on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
The person holding this position will have responsibility for tracking the success and ROI for product roadmap and additions to the product suite and demonstrate a clear understanding of the competitive landscape. Additionally this position will be measured on the new features and offerings have in driving sales, pipeline, bookings, and revenue.
Key metrics of success will be: · Industry analyst perception of the product offering · Competitive win / loss success · Maximizing revenue potential of existing business cases. · Developing relationships across the larger Emerson product and strategy teams (divisions). · Acting as a main contact point for new feature and enhancements and their market viability. · Driving the development and operational resources to achieve measureable and market winning product offerings that create a compelling and differentiated product in the marketplace. · Hands-on leader that can also train and develop a strong team as needed for growth. Required Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidates for this role at Emerson will have a demonstrated track record of success in developing and implementing comprehensive product roadmap and product strategy. S/he will have experience as an actively-contributing member of a management team.
Candidate qualifications include: o Relevant industry and functional experience, with a track record of accomplishments o Results-oriented and detail-driven; track record of meeting and exceeding assigned product milestones and timelines. o Strong metrics orientation analytical skills with relevant Information Technology experience. o Must have demonstrated ability to identify key market trends and adapt the product roadmap to those trends to the senior management team of the business unit. o Must have experience in deep analysis of customer and market trends and translating into a product roadmap. o Able to think strategically and conceptually; aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems. o Experience and market knowledge to prioritize business opportunities with regard to revenue and profit and creating the business plans to articulate the opportunity. o Prior management of global teams with diverse backgrounds is strongly desired o Strong ability to recruit, retain and lead a high-performing product management team. o Able to work effectively in a matrix environment; demonstrated experience working with sales organizations, technical teams and marketing organizations using creative approaches to problem solving. o Proven ability for building beneficial, trustworthy and lasting professional relationships. o 50% travel for this position is a requirement.
