ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW & POSITION SUMMARY: Cisco products bring unique value to our customers, and our goal in Voice Technology Group is to provide products that will push to define, develop and deliver a "One Cisco" solution to provide a complete Desktop Virtualization for our customers consisting of Data Center, Borderless Network, and Collaboration elements. We design products for Commercial, Enterprise and Service Provider segments, covering the range of Cisco technologies enabling customers of all sizes to get the most from their network infrastructure investment.
As the Senior Director of Product Management for Virtual Desktop Solutions, you will lead the product management team in the definition, development, and delivery of desktop virtual desktop solution. In this highly visible position you will closely collaborate with other key business units in Cisco's Development Organization (CDO), marketing, field and solutions teams on developing overall service assurance product strategy and roadmap.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
>One of the key initiatives of the Senior Director of Product Management will be to ensure superior product management direction, execution and collaboration with the Engineering team. He/She must set priorities to ensure we meet the needs of our customers while simultaneously ensuring that our products be delivered to the market with the right features, positioning, pricing and promotion. He/She must lead the organization through the on-going product development cycles, from initial definition to final production, with products and services delivered on schedule, on budget with high quality. >Virtual Go-To-Market: He/she must direct experience with desktop virtualization client products from one or more of the leading industry providers. >Leadership: He/she will know how to work collaboratively on product solutions that will often span more than just VTG products (for the benefit of our customers), thus requiring individuals to work across organizational boundaries to deliver broad scale management solutions.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: >This individual should possess an outstanding track record of success in delivering desktop virtualization client products. >Experience with activities associated with establishing and growing a new business are required including experience with managing a P&L. Should also have experience dealing with strategic issues facing a business and led the business strategy for success at one or more businesses. >An understanding of the global large enterprise markets is a significant advantage due to the rigorous acceptance procedures and system uptime requirements established by these customers. Given the global footprint for Cisco's products, international experience is desired.
>Ultimately this leader will use knowledge of emerging customer needs to determine product features, pricing, positioning, and promotion, resulting in marketplace success characterized by rapid adoption of new products, increased penetration for existing products, and increased sales of core Cisco products and solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess the following experience: >Product management experience working as a seasoned Product/Business Manager with direct experience in a large, complex organization and in the market / products associated with Desktop Virtualization. >Will have dealt with strategic issues facing a product line and led the business strategy for success at one or more business units. >Will have held a product management position for a large, complex organization preferably in the Green Tech sector or Energy sector. >10 plus years of experience in Product Marketing or Business Development. 4 plus years direct experience in Desktop Virtualization required. Additionally 7 plus years of people management, and 3 plus years of second-line management experience desired.

Accelerate: Develops the overall strategy for the virtual desktop solutions, effectively communicates it to the group, and aligns it with Cisco's overall strategy, enhancing Cisco's network-as-the-platform strategy, and resulting in strong buy-in and commitment from the TG, customers, and the enterprise.
Disrupt: Promotes innovation and change in order to improve the technology, operations, and business processes needed to execute strategy and set Cisco apart in the global marketplace.
EDUCATION: An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Additionally, MBA preferred.
COMPENSATION: The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive and attractive compensation package, which includes a base salary, a performance-based bonus, and equity.
