Disaster Recovery Analyst
Title: Disaster Recovery Analyst Skills: data center, disaster recovery, recovery strategy details, infrastructure,data and voice telecommunications,Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) Date: 8-24-2010 Description: Disaster Recovery Technical Analyst Consultant (DCII) #SS * 2010-07-145 If you are interested and feel you are qualified for this position, please send current resume to Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 4+ months Position Description The Consultant is responsible for the creation of Disaster Recovery Plans in support of the identified DR Critical Applications for recovery in Data Center II and insuring they meet the previously published disaster recovery strategy requirements. Plans should be clear, concise and allow a variety of skills sets to recover the environment in the case of a declared disaster. Technical in scope and centered around the IT requirements of disaster recovery, the recovery strategy details the infrastructure necessary to recover the environment within the recovery times for as specified in the BIA. Skills Required 1. The ability to develop a clear understanding of the company*s key functional ITG processes and resources. 2. The ability to work in a complex political environment, within a matrixed organizational structure, to successfully meet departmental goals and objectives. 3. Thorough knowledge and understanding of current disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies. 4. Strong familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures within data processing and disaster recovery. 5. A technical IT background in Windows, AIX and/or Linux role is highly desirable. 6. Working knowledge of data and voice telecommunications in order to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures in this area. 7. Strong human relations skills to interface with executives, managers and staff at all levels within the. 8. Good skills with the use of common office management tools such as MS Access, MS Excel, Word, VISIO and IBM*s Lotus Notes. 9. Excellent written communication and oral communication skills. Additional Needs 1. Bachelors Degree in Business, Information Technology, Information Management, or a related field; or the equivalent in education and work experience. 2. Ten years generalized IT experience 3. Four to six years of DR related work experience. 4. Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or Associate Disaster Recovery Planner accreditation preferred.
