Disaster Recovery Technical Analyst
Title: Disaster Recovery Technical Analyst Skills: Disaster Recovery, Governance Date: 8-22-2010 Description: Disaster Recovery Technical Analyst Consultant (DCII) #JP-07144 Please send resumes to Location: Chicago IL Our healthcare client is moving from an Operational DR plan to a Governance model. The active DR/BIA team will eventually primarily act as auditors in a governance model rather than be involved the the day-to-day implementation and maintenance of all DR projects throughout the firm. A DR consultant is needed to help plan and execute this transition which is planned to continue until November of 2011. RESPONSIBILITIES: o The Consultant is responsible for the creation of a DR Governance Strategy, tactical planning annd execution as well as policies and procedures in support of compliance controls, process, tracking and reporting. Controls should be quantifiable with well defined metrics. o The DR Program is an established organization moving to the next level of maturity. As the Governance model is introduced to the organization, DR Testing and training responsibilities must be well defined. o The Consultant should have a working knowledge of the issues and concerns leading to the creation of a governance/regulatory organization versus an operational organization. Familiarity with organizational structures, implied authority and audit concerns. Exposure to HIPPA, MAR, NAIC and or SOX and a firm grounding in best practices and audit standards such as ITIL service continuity and COBIT DS4 are preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires the following knowledge and skills: 1. The ability to develop a clear understanding of the company*s key functional ITG processes and resources. 2. The ability to work in a complex political environment, within a matrix organizational structure, to successfully meet departmental goals and objectives. 3. Thorough knowledge and understanding of current disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies. 4. Strong familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures within data processing and disaster recovery. 5. Past experience in a governance role. 6. Strong human relations skills to interface with executives, managers and staff at all levels within the. 7. Good skills with the use of common office management tools such as MS Access, MS Excel, Word, VISIO and IBM*s Lotus Notes. 8. Excellent written communication and oral communication skills. Experience: -Ten years generalized IT experience -Four to six years of DR related work experience. Additional experience expected: 1. The creation of a DR Governance Strategy, presentation to DR Management and approvals. 2. Creation of compliance, tracking and reporting controls in support of the approved DR Governance Strategy. 3. Creation of policies and procedures governing the DR Department and the Enterprise as a whole is it relates to DR.
