Under minimal direction, identifies, implements and supports new technologies while leveraging the existing infrastructure to provide 24x7 operational support that enable MST business units to maintain web based information management systems. Provides hands on assistance with support for those project teams implementing critical E-Commerce systems in support of Macys strategic initiatives. Mentors other team members on technology and processes. This position is part of a team that is staffed 24x7, 365 days a year to provide operational support for Macy's Ecommerce systems.

Position Overview: A top level technical design contributor in one or more highly specialized phases of application system analysis and programming with strong business application knowledge. Acting independently with minimal direction, supports the management team in providing leadership and technical consulting and expertise in the development, modification, and implementation of highly complex information systems that conform to MST standards and methodology. Translates customer requirements, recommending system solutions and formulating detailed specifications from which programs are written. Provides leadership in the evaluation and recommendation of hardware and software solutions used throughout the industry for use at MST. With extensive technical and business knowledge of all phases of application systems analysis and programming, provides strategic focus on system solutions that may cross MST FOBs. May be responsible for driving multiple phases of a project to completion. Independently researches and resolves technical problems of the highest complexity. May serve in the MST Solutions Framework roles of Development Lead, Project Manager, Testing Advocate, or Operations Advocate.
Accountabilities: The position of System Specialist, eCommerce Operations Advocate has responsibility for managing multiple facets of eCommerce deployments activities, with a focus on automation and strategic initiatives in Operations. They will ensure that deployment timelines are developed, tasks are identified, resources are assigned and team members are prepared to execute deployments. They will conduct pre-deployment walk-throughs with eCommerce Service Support teams. They will be responsible for driving multiple, concurrent deployments to successful completion and coordinate deployment activities with business partners. The Operations Advocate will work with their manager and business partners to improve eCommerce deployment processes, with a heavy focus on automation. They will manage SOX compliance around the change and deployment processes including change tickets and approval and will help represent eCommerce change requests to the MST Change Advisory Board. This position requires that the candidate fulfill the roll as subject matter expert for eCommerce deployments and related deployment processes.
Required Skills · 8 years of leading large scale technical effort, from defining the architecture to installation of the solution
· 5 years of hands on experience with J2EE framework
· 4 years of eCommerce experience
· 3 years of experience with AntHill Pro

Tools/Environments · Solid foundation of XML, XSD, XSLT, WSDL, SOAP is desirable
· Scripting including Unix shell, python desirable.
· Development tools including ANT, Eclipse and RAD desirable.
· Experience with source management tools and deployment management tools
· Experience with Websphere required. Other container experience such as Weblogic, JBOSS, Jetty, Resin, Tomcat is desirable but not required.
· API Experience with JAAS, JNDI, JSSE, JMX, JTA, JMS highly desirable.
· Web Services development experience desirable.
