Troubleshooting and facilitating the resolution of any identified data file transmission and transaction errors including verification that all communication links and interfaces are working correctly and communicating appropriately. Monitoring the daily receipts and processing of claim files from Medicare contractors along with troubleshooting and resolving data transmission or content problems. Candidate must have working knowledge of EDI data translators and validation support. EDI/HIPAA/X12 EDI Consultant will assist vendors with Mainframe set-up and file transmission process on project. In addition, they will assist Plan Sponsors technical contacts with uploading and downloading of files. EDI Consultant will need to support the Call Center staff by assisting with technical inquiries that are received via telephone and e-mail and provide technical and operational support for EDI process.
Requirements:
EDI Consultant should have knowledge of data processing systems, IBM Mainframe, utilities and JCL. Most important, consultant should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access due to the file formats created for project. Oral and written is important because consultant will be interacting on a daily basis with vendors and plan sponsors. Mainframe is important. Being able to look up things in Access is important (no development), and in-depth knowledge of Excel. The 270 and 271 are the only transactions used. Not a mapping position but familiarity with these transactions is desired. Of utmost importance is excellent communications skills, this person interacts heavily with internal/external community.
