Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer 1\2
Entry-level mechanical engineering position in the Electronics Products group at the Boeing Company's Satellite Development Center. In the Electronics Products organization, mechanical and electrical engineers collaborate to design and produce numerous types of electronic boards, assemblies, and units for use in space environments. Engineers support development from proposals and requirements development, through design and design verification, all the way through manufacturing, integration, and test to delivery of the product to a spacecraft. Mechanical engineering design responsibilities include translation of requirements into hardware concepts, layouts, and designs, application of best practices such as Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, structural and thermal analyses, and production release of drawings and design databases. People in this position apply engineering knowledge to create design solutions incorporating structural design, vibration & thermal analysis, material selection, design definition principles, while growing the ability to evaluate designs and perform trade studies for performance, design adequacy, cost effectiveness, and reliability.

Basic - Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).
Preferred - General knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).
• Electromechanical Design
Basic - Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical design techniques (e.g., enclosure design, electronic equipment installation design, wire harness design). Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, Mentor, Unigraphics). Basic knowledge of analysis techniques (e.g., thermal, structural).
Preferred - General understanding of mechanical and/or electrical design techniques (e.g., enclosure design, electronic equipment installation design, wire harness design). General knowledge of specialized electromechanical design (e.g., high density interconnects, EMI/EMC/ESD, analog/digital electronics). General knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, Mentor, Unigraphics). General knowledge of analysis techniques (e.g., thermal, structural).

Typical Education/Experience
Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Other Job related information
BS or MS in mechanical engineering is preferred. Experience with Pro-E or Solidworks is a plus.
