Electrical Engineering (EE) Co-op Positions

Requirements: The EE co-op will be a Sophomore or first semester Junior working towards a BSEE or related degree with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Responsibilities & Training: Electrical Engineering co-ops typically spend their entire co-op experience in one work group. Within this work group, they are exposed to as many skill areas as possible. The following is a list of electrical engineering co-op work disciplines and the skill areas found within each work group:
² Product Development:Develop and utilize the skills necessary for new product development/product improvement. ¨ PC based schematic capture ¨ PC based printed circuit board layout/design ¨ Assembler programming ¨ Agency Standards (UL, TUV/CE) § Safety & EMI emissions/immunity ¨ Communication protocol ¨ Logic analyzer/digital scope
² PANCIM:Introduction to the Panduit Computer Integrated Manufacturing System. ¨ Allen Bradley Data Highway Wiring ¨ EIPI Interface to production machines ¨ Database Mechanics ¨ Plant APP Programming ¨ GCS Screen Navigation/GCS Screen Development ¨ PC DOS Setup/PC Windows Setup ¨ VAX COM Programs/VAX System Monitoring ¨ Database Management ¨ C Programming ¨ PC Network Setup/PC Hardware
² Controls:Learn the basics of machine controls used on production equipment. ¨ Relay Ladder Logic Diagrams ¨ PLC hardware and software ¨ Sensors used in production machines ¨ Panel design construction methods ¨ Wiring guidelines for production machines ¨ Selection and design of Operator stations and Interfaces used ¨ Common trouble shooting guidelines of electrical controls
² Facilities:Develop and practice the skills and techniques used in the design and continued maintenance of Panduit’s facility operations. ¨ Production machine controls design using Relay and PLC logic ¨ Power distribution design ¨ Lighting design ¨ Fire and smoke detection design ¨ Security systems design ¨ Network design ¨ Building automation design ¨ Schematic drawing using AutoCAD
Duration of Co-op: PANDUITrequires an Engineering co-op to work atPANDUITfor a minimum of 3 work sessions (13 weeks each) with an alternating work/school schedule.PANDUIThas co-op opportunities available for Fall, Spring and Summer.
