Under direction of supervision or higher grade employees install, service, maintain, and repair a variety of industrial electronic and electrical systems and controls and associated systems used throughout the jet test area. This may include:

Answer trouble calls on electronic and electrical systems and equipment, where symptoms are generally indicative of the cause of the problem. Work from complicated drawings, schematic diagrams, and service manuals to resolve less complex problems associated with various machine controls such as hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical including machine tools and test stand equipment as well as motors, fans, outlets, lighting fixtures, and other types of electronic and electrical equipment, apparatus, and systems. Locate source of trouble using test instruments such as voltmeters and circuit analyzers to affect routine repairs within the limits of standard practices and methods and return units to an operable condition. Assist higher grade electricians with trouble shooting, overhauling, and modifying more complex electronic and electrical units and systems. Install disconnect switches, measure, cut, thread and bend conduit. Install fittings and outlets boxes, pull wires, hang fixtures, splice wires and connect wires to proper terminals. Check installations to verify proper wire and voltage connections.
Perform preventive maintenance on various equipment and systems.

Requires well rounded knowledge of electronics and electricity including a.c. and d.c. circuits, single and polyphase power distribution systems, solid state circuitry, microprocessors, and power distribution systems. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code as it applies to industrial work. Requires the ability to use shop mathematics and apply electrical formulas, read complicated drawings and schematic diagrams and use a variety of test instruments. Ability to lift and handle light to medium weight parts and handle heavy parts or materials with mechanical or manual assistance. Periodically work in a strained or awkward position. Occasionally required to exert considerable effort for short periods in the use and handling of tools and equipment.
Must be familiar with basic principles of solid state circuitry.
Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles
