Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position 1. Plan, assign, participate, supervise and review the work and work instructions to the various functional areas and across shift personnel and identify process improvement opportunities that drive business results (i.e. cost reductions, operational efficiencies, adequate controls, customer directed metrics, etc.) in the areas of maintenance and repair for the small hand held equipment. 2. Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for electronic technician shop; implement policies and procedures. 3. Evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities. 4. Participate in the selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures; maintain records and prepare reports; ensure a quality standard of measurement is implemented and adhered to. 5. Participate in budget preparation and administration; prepare cost estimates for budget recommendations; submit justifications; monitor and control expenditure; prepare equipment replacement schedules and designate obsolete or worn-out units; requisition parts, tools and consumables. 6. Responsible for ensuring that proper set-up procedures/initialization/and testing procedures are followed. 7. Work special high priority tasks as assigned. 8. Anticipate problems and work to mitigate risks. 9. Responsible for planning hand-off requirements from one shift to the next is implemented. Supervision Supervises, directs and mentors all electronic techniciana?s functions and personnel across all assigned shifts that directly relate to the repair of hand held non-intrusive inspections devices. Individual will work closely as the liaison with Asset and Inventory Management for purchasing new parts, supplies and consumables. Minimum Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. 2. Eight plus years of increasingly responsible experience in communications, electronics communication, semi conductor, Radio Frequency and/or electronic theory, including a minimum of three to five years of supervisory or lead responsibility. 3. Equivalent completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college course work in electronics or a related field or valid CET license. Computer Skills 1. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint at intermediate level. 2. Microsoft Project desired. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance: 1. Treasury BI. 2. Possession of a valid Virginia drivera?s license is required. 3. PMI Certification desired. 4. Possession of a valid FCC or CET Certification is highly desirable.
