Job description THE POSITION OVERVIEW
Based in the Netherlands Seed Lab and reporting to the Seed Lab Manager, preparing "Seed" loans of Apple products to key customers, journalists, and partners across Apple EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India & Africa) is at the core of this role.
The role includes equipment preparation, installation of software, repairs & engineering work and packaging/refreshing of Apple products. The overall goal is to deliver seed units on-time and at a high quality based on the daily work-list as defined by the EMEIA Seed Lab Manager. The role includes a range of activities working in close collaboration with EMEIA country teams and EMEIA Product Marketing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Prepare Seed Requests Prepare & refresh Apple Mac notebook and other Apple equipment for seed requests. Including set-up, software install (imaging), testing, and packing. This will involve lifting and carrying heavy equipment.
Apple NetBoot Restore Process Responsible for maintaining the Seed Lab NetBoot network and servers and supporting systems after Apple-supplied training. Maintain and build content for the Netboot system as required by frequent changes in Apple's software products. You will maintain a hands-on approach in ensuring Apple's newest software is present on Seed Loans.
Mac OS System Images & Packages Develop, maintain & test system images and installation packages for all Mac Systems after Apple-supplied training. Work with EMEIA Product marketing to define applications and content for a range of systems and uses.
Responsible for Assigned Product(s) Maintain ownership of your assigned product line; report volume discrepancies (stolen/missing, shortages), assist locating reported returns, identify damaged units. Act as champion for your product during the cycle-count period for inventory accountability.
?Equipment Repair Train and retrain (as required) as a repair technician for Apple products. Perform repairs to damaged or defective seeds that are within the Seed Lab scope for repairs. Maintain responsibility for diagnosing problems and returning products to loan system or sending for refurbishment.
Seed Lab Organization Maintain assigned product and burn areas whilst keeping the area to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. Manage product parts & accessories physically and in a corresponding computer inventory system.
Inventory Reconciliation Participate in Quarterly & Financial Year End Inventory Reconciliations. Ensure there are zero inventory discrepancies.
Seed Lab Safety Ensure seed lab is a safe environment meeting all Apple, regulatory, and local safety guidelines.
Quality Control Utilise best-practice procedures to guarantee all seed products delivered by the Seed Lab are of highest quality, fully functional, and to the highest standards of cleanliness. Ensure all documentation is completed and enclosed with shipments as required. See that damaged units are repaired or replaced as required. Escalate issues regarding quality to the Seed Lab manager and suggest process improvements where appropriate.
Procedures Ensure all lab procedures are followed and stay abreast of any updates to Seed Lab policy and procedure.
Special Projects Flexibility & Integrity to operate in confidential & ambiguous projects as the business dictates throughout the year.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Delight our customers with seeds delivered on-time and to spec. Take pride in providing white-glove treatment to our most valued customers. Troubleshoot and repair Apple hardware and software products. Turning around repairs to re-seed as quickly as possible. Provide for the smooth operation of Apple's Netboot restore system and corresponding seed unit collateral.
KEY COMPETENCIES / PROFILE: You share a passion for technology and Apple products. You have some background in tech support or technical customer services. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION: 2+ years Mac or PC engineering experience Experience in a technical operations or lab environment Advanced IT skills are required Apple product knowledge is an asset Based in The Netherlands, though some International travel will be required Fluent written and spoken English; though other languages are of benefit
