Job Description : Lead and direct all activities of the engineering team in order to successfully complete product maintenance, lifecycle management, cost reduction projects, and small to mid complexity NPDP within the schedule, quality and cost targets. Manage other areas of focus as assigned. Shared managers will provide expertise and leadership related to their discipline. Serve as the direct line supervisor for assigned associates: define annual goals; perform annual performance reviews, coach associates and provide feedback; give input on compensation decisions; work with HR department on all personnel-related issues. With his/her experience in product development, the Engineering Manager provides technical advice and support to his/her associates and assures that all resources within their team are utilized efficiently and effectively. Act as the interface between suppliers, plant and headquarter functions. Communicate frequently with other functions (e.g. quality, marketing, purchasing,...) plants and suppliers to assure common understanding of goals. Facilitates proper coordination between functions so that goals are achieved. Manage the resources of the assigned group. Continuously assesses resource allocation/utilization and adjust as required to meet priorities and objectives. Manage the budget of the assigned cost center, monitor the spending and provide budget projections on a regular basis. Prepare and present projects for appropriation requests. Monitor project related expenses. Present project status to management on a regular basis. Identify obstacles and recommend solutions to overcome. Take initiative and work with other line functions to implement these solutions and overcome the obstacles. Provide leadership in cost reduction teams and assume technical assistance in testing, verification and approval of cost reduction initiatives. Job Requirements : Job Requirements : Min BS Engineering, Mechanical/Electromechanical. -7 + years of progressive Engineering design/project experience with at least 2-3 years of supervisory experience managing technical team that includes CAD Engr, test lab personnel and or model shop personnel. -Experience supervising overseas engineering staff (China) highly desirable- We can consider a Senior Project Engineer who is ready to move to the next level of Engineering manager. - Requires experience in high volume branded durable products that employ molded plastic, rubber, die- castings Examples of applicable industry experience include, lawn/garden products , power tools, motor powered equipment, spraying/pumping products , small appliances etc. Ability to travel overseas to factory as required.
