Engineering Technologist & IT Administrator Job # 13390BR City Dayton State/Province Ohio FT/PT Full Time Qty 1 Job Description ARINC, Dayton, Ohio, is looking for a Engineering Technologist & IT Administrator to join our team supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory - Center for Rapid Product Development at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. In this role, the Engineering Technologist & IT Administrator will:
- Function as an engineering technologist for multiple rapid development and prototyping research, development, and prototyping projects (approx. 50%), and a systems administrator responsible for providing day-to-day administration and support for Microsoft Server and Windows Services for extranet and intranet environments (approx. 50%).
- Research and engineer technologies to miniaturize electronic components, including antennas and computer processors.
- Use off-the-shelf hardware to plan and conduct experiments to prove or disprove the viability of electronic data collected by miniaturized hardware by comparing test results to test predictions.
- Define technical requirements and overall success criteria; operate in a phased approach with short term goals to evaluate progress towards established success criteria.
- Create and review technical documentation, including specifications, requirements documents, test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Install, monitor, and maintain servers and required storage/hosting services required to provide IT solutions.
- Perform typical administrative activities such as backup, restore, site creation, and user issue resolution.
- Provide computer infrastructure support, including network management, installing and updating PC and server software, isolating hardware and software issues, anomaly resolution, system corrections, and inventory control.
- Assist the engineering staff, and make recommendations for alternatives. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS:
- Two or more years of relevent experience.
- Understands and maintains cognizance of state-of-the-art of electronics theory and techniques.
- Ability to quickly analyze progress and data to make recommendations for improvement.
- Possess experience in implementing and supporting one or more of the following environments/services: Standard Desktop computers (windows and vista based), Microsoft 2007, Air Force T-1, DEVNET, Windows 2003, XP.
- Broad, logical thinker and planner; ability to plan and guide projects with general direction and a minimum of supervision.
- Strong personal skills; able to communicate and coordinate with senior management and in a fast-paced environment.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience with Government organizations strongly desired.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical area or equivalent.
- CompTIA A+ Certification required.
- MCTP Certification or equivalent experience. Amount of Travel Required for Position 0%-25%
