Kelly IT Resources is recruiting for a Data Architect with solid experience in data architecture and governance to drive strategic planning and lead the development and deployment of enterprise data architecture for our client and its service portfolio.

Our client has launched a significant initiative, called Working Smarter, to create cost savings and administrative efficiencies through a variety of projects across the company's system. A key set of these initiatives involves the deployment of common administrative systems and shared business processes. The first of several major system implementations will be a common HR/Payroll system for all of the company's nearly 200,000 employees.

The Data Architect will be responsible initially for the successful design and deployment of data architecture and master data management design to support a new system-wide implementation of PeopleSoft s Human Capital Management HCM and Payroll applications, with related supporting environments for reporting and forecasting. In tandem with that work, the Data Architect will work with representatives from across company's ten campuses and five medical centers to support other system-wide initiatives in support of data warehousing, data governance, or related issues. The Data Architect will be accountable for effective Enterprise Data Governance, and provide knowledge, support and input to a Master Data Management MDM strategy.

The Data Architect will provide design and management of computer systems data assets and lead overall strategy and design in systems data architecture, modeling, and standards definition. In collaboration with the Enterprise Architect, the Data Architect will translate business requirements into relevant data models. This role will be a key contributor to the success of UC s information strategy and management of new data services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Develop and maintain a data strategy and associated policies
-Assist in the selection of capabilities and systems to meet business information needs
-Ensure interoperability at the data level with all relevant company provided services Introduce and institutionalize the concept of data integrity across company's Lines of Businesses LOBs , especially through the concept of a metadata repository.
-Design and maintain logical and physical data models of master data domains
-Define and manage data quality program for Master Data Management
-Assist in the facilitation of the data governance process to ensure global, cross-functional alignment.
-Define, implement and provide ongoing maintenance for data modeling initiatives
-Provide mentoring on data architecture design and requirements to other development and business teams throughout the company
-Serve as a data ambassador communicating the strategic value of data within Company Flag risks and provide feedback to project managers and team leads
-Track and report data services metrics
-Ensure comprehensive and cohesive working solutions are developed across architectures Mentor and educate various IT and business teams on proper data design and the selection of enterprise wide tools for data analysis

EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline required Masters degree preferred

REQUIRED:
-Bachelors degree and 8+ years of IT work experience and at least 3 years of experience in the role of Data Architect or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
-Demonstrated experience working with an enterprise level data warehouse team.
-Working knowledge of Data Modeling tools.
-Experience with data modeling methods and techniques for Transaction Processing and Data Warehouse.
-Familiarity and use of analytic tools (such as Business Objects, Cognos, SAS, etc).
-Familiar with web services, enterprise service buses and the latest concepts in system integration.
-Proven technical leadership in the areas of data architecture, conceptual and logical data modeling, data definition and metadata management.
-Knowledge, understanding and utilization of systems design standards.

Must Have's for the Data Architect:
A willingness to work with stakeholders of varying levels of technical expertise in a complex environment.
Expertise in Enterprise Data Architecture concepts.
Expertise in Relational Data Models (conceptual, logical and physical, Dimensional Data Models, Data Dictionary and Metadata).

A solid understanding
