JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction of senior analyst's and management team, the role of the Business Systems Analyst is to plan, design, develop and deploy efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem - solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
The systems analyst role requires an individual who has depth and breadth within several of the following discplines: Technology, project management, systems development life cycle and customer service.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Technical:
Research, recommend, plan, design, and deploy new and existing application enhancements to support key business requirements.
Develop project cost and benefit estimates.
Develop and execute formal application test plans that fully test all business requirements using established testing methodology. Utilize automated testing tools when appropriate to allow more efficient regression testing.
Assist Vendor Management with contract reviews.
Technical Support:
Identify and quickly resolve business application issues by performing a root cause analysis to ensure that any problems that develop are not going to reoccur.
Proactively develops communication with vendor support and vendor documentation to ensure our knowledge of vendor identified issues and releases and partner with them to ensure adherence to our change control and testing standards.
Fully document and continue with ongoing tracking of outstanding issues or focus group enhancement requests.
Communication/Personal Development:
Provide accurate time accounting on support and project activities to ensure accurate statistical reporting that can help support the value that IT brings to our customers.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of application enhancements by staying current with industry best practices to ensure the integrity of the production environment
Follow internal project management methodology by adhering to documentation, peer review guidelines, and production change control processes when implementing application enhancements and maintenance to ensure a stable production environment.
Complete appropriate application support documentation including system models, specifications, diagrams, charts as well as Help Desk knowledgebase entries to ensure that everyone is able to support our customers effectively.
Gather application level performance data for monthly SLA reviews to measure performance.
Ensure completion of all regulatory documentation such as sensitivity, criticality and security baseline information.
Business Partnership:
Automate business application functions through businessline partnerships and ongoing communications along with review and analysis of individual business functions always looking out for possible process improvements.
Provide business alignment through regular end user meetings to define business requirements and system goals
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience in creating reporting dashboards for business lines in a financial services environment and be proficient in gathering reporting requirements and writing reports. Understanding of at least one of the following banking business lines is required: commercial, retail, wealth, business banking, finance/legal.
Minimum Education: Associates Degree or equivalent experience in the financial services industry.
Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in the financial services industry.
Minimum Experience: 7 years working in the financial services industry
Preferred Experience: More than 7 years of experience using and/or supporting financial services systems

Skills--Machine: Microcomputer equipment, complex network electronics, typing 45 wpm, fax, phone.

Math: Calculation of percentages, ratios, basic algebraic equations, etc., by following insturctions or preset formulas
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with others in a work environment. Written communication skills to draft materials that convey or request factual information where examples of both format and content usually exist and require some modification (eg. preparing letters and reports)
Scope of Position: Ability to represent the organization in a professional, self-controlled and positive manner.

Independent Action: Under direct supervision/guidance of other senior level analysts and management team. Support to Project ratio = 80:20

Travel: 1-5 nights/month
