POSITION SUMMARY
The Enterprise Systems Management (ESM) team delivers systems management solutions to offer visibility to business critical applications and services across our corporate landscape with clients ranging from system owners to service stakeholders within corporate RIM. We are looking to hire an ESM Administrator with passion, leadership and hands-on experience to deliver administration and projects/initiatives as they relate to the design, implementation and support of Windows systems monitoring technology in a multi platform and multi tool environment. The successful candidate will understand and deliver with the goal to achieve and surpass our customer's business objectives
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: * Deliver configuration, customization, and maintenance of monitoring tools from ESM solution portfolio to meet internal customer requirements * Analyze studies regarding system usage, make recommendations for improvements, and determine system requirements * Assist in research, analyze, and testing of emerging hardware and monitoring software solutions for continuous improvement and their fit into the ESM solution portfolio * Deliver systems monitoring reporting to meet business trending and capacity planning needs * Deliver templates for key solution offerings that can be used by ESM and other internal teams * Assist in delivering training and knowledge transfer to ESM team members and other service teams so that all global regions are aligned * Deliver tier 1 and 2 support to Enterprise-level systems management solutions in a large enterprise-level environment (1000 system nodes and 100000 networking elements) to meet business needs * Working under a fast-paced high-stressed environment, proactively initiate, develop and maintain trust and close working relationships with all internal customers * Be empowered to hold full accountability to ensure systems management compliance to standards and policies to the best service levels possible ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * 2 to 5 years of experience in an administrator role of enterprise-class systems monitoring * 5 years of Windows Server Administration * 5 years of IS / IT implementation and customer service experience with proven leadership ability * College or university degree in computer science or 5 years of industry work experience * Stellar knowledge of enterprise-class systems management packages (Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager) * Excellent in-depth technical experience and a proven track record in multiple distinct technologies in a production environment * Microsoft .NET Development * Microsoft SQL Administration and/or Development * Applications monitoring including Active Directory or Exchange Administrator * Extensive experience with WMI and SAM * Working expertise in MS SQL * Working knowledge of Network and monitoring Protocols(TCP/IP, SNMP) * Shell scripting (Microsoft Power Shell , VB Script) * Effective hands-on technical skills are essential; Solid high-energy level with strong work ethics operating in an enterprise-level IT or network environment is a must * Thinking in a disciplined and logical manner and applying excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of reacting quickly to problems and following established procedures to implement solutions * Exceptional documentation and presentation skills * With excellent judgment, organizational, leadership, decision-making and multi-tasking skills, able to handle stressful situations with a level-headed approach and make extensive use of available resources to prioritize workload in order to achieve consistent results in a constantly changing environment * Superlative communication and interpersonal skills and abilities to maintain good relationships with clients and peers with tact and diplomacy * Strong sense of urgency in dealing with customer business needs * Decisive and goal oriented, able to set realistic priorities to coordinate and complete multiple complex projects simultaneously * Demonstrated ability to adapt readily to new situations while maintaining consistently superior level of productivity ADDITIONAL ASSETS * Expertise with all major networking technologies (LAN, WAN, security) in planning and design phases * 3 to 5 years working experience with Microsoft MOM. * 3 to 5 years working with Remedy Action Request System or equivalent * Previous experience teaching or training others * Established project management skills * Thorough knowledge of ITIL framework
