Enterprise wide Apps Analyst 5
Northrop Grumman ESS is seeking a Senior Basis Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Los Angeles, CA., but can be performed virtually.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's ERP Operations SAP Basis Administration Team, supporting a diverse set of systems utilizing the newest technology in Operating Systems, Utilities, and Hardware for SAP R3, Enterprise Portal, PI, GTS, IDM, Redwood and PPM applications.
Responsibilities include: maintaining on-going support for state of the art SAP environments (including NetWeaver) on UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.
The candidate will provide technical administration support for SAP applications on UNIX/Linux and Windows operating system. Duties will include:
• IT problem research and resolution
• Technical IT consulting on SAP related projects
• Provide manpower and staffing projections for new Basis projects and implementations
• Generate recommendations for process improvement
• Oversee Project completion and interface with Business Partners regarding projects
• Provide SAP & third party interface software version updates, coordinate implementation of fixes/changes to application interfaces, and application client installations.
Perform Capacity Planning across the SAP landscapes
• Monitor and tune the SAP landscapes utilizing CCMS and Solution manager to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• The candidate will be capable of applying advanced NetWeaver technical principles, theories and concepts.
• The candidate will be required to work on unusually complex technical problems and to provide solutions which are highly innovative.
• Install software SAP patches and/or updates as needed
• Perform proactive review of systems performance metrics and alerts to ensure event correlation and trend analysis are performed on a regular basis
• Use CCMS and Solution Manager to understand recurring incidents impacting user population, identify root cause, resolve problems, and implementing corrective actions.
• Review system logs to identify signs of potential problems
• Evaluate software or system releases to determine compatibility as requested
• Document the systems infrastructure and maintaining an accurate hardware and software inventory.
Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
• Bachelors Degree in IFSM, Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent experience with 14 or more years IT experience
• SAP Basis experience required. Prefer five years experience in SAP BASIS Support for R3, Enterprise Portal, PI, and/or SRM
• Prefer two years Experience Supporting Dual Stack (Java and ABAP) and Stand Alone Java Stack Systems. This includes experience with the Java Software Deployment Manager, Visual Administrator, Configuration Tool, System Landscape Directory, and User Management Engine within a UNIX environment
The successful candidate will also have experience with and be able to perform technical planning, ERP system integration, verification and validation, cost benefit, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of SAP system development and include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and redeployment.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
• Experience with SOX Certified Systems
• Experience with SAP in AIX/Oracle/Db2 Environments
Experience in Implementing Improvements in SAP Environment
