The DI Integration Architect supports Americas Sales and PS delivery teams in demand creation and delivery of Teradata high-value, strategic consulting services in the area of Data Integration (DI) within the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) group. S/he contributes to continuous improvement of services delivery methodology, standards, and tools by leveraging best practices knowledge and experience, and provides thought leadership and mentoring to the Solution Teams and PS Delivery consultants.
This individual works closely with Sales and PS Management in creating and delivering on revenue opportunities for new accounts and user base expansion across the Americas industry verticals. The intent is to use specific high-value services to drive customer demand not only for Professional Services but also for Teradata data warehousing solutions (hardware, software, and applications). The consultant is responsible for developing, facilitating and delivering these high value services while providing best practices knowledge transfer to other PS resources within the organization.
The DI Integration Architect is responsible for building new DI offerings, qualifying new engagement opportunities and the successful delivery of those engagements. The primary focus is Data Integration as it pertains to the Teradata Utilities and 3rdParty DI Vendors (ie Informatica, IBM, Ab Initio). These services may also be cross-sold and/or integrated with other Enterprise Data Management services such as Data Architecture, DW Maturity Assessment, Enterprise Data Integration Roadmap, Enterprise Data Warehouse Governance, Data Stewardship and others.
This individual will provide thought leadership in the development of new programs/services to maximize new revenue growth opportunities. This position will carry a billable objective of approximately 1200 hours with travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities: The DI Integration Architect is expected to deliver high-quality, customer billable consulting on PS engagements and promote/provide DI/ETL technical oversight, building and promoting best practices, and mentoring the Americas PS development teams. In addition, the DI Integration Architect plays an active role in pre-sale activities, including building and promoting new DI offers, building and delivering presentations, support DI/ETL scoping and estimating activities and development of SOWs. Specific Responsibilities include: * Support an offer-based practice, provide DI thought leadership and help to articulate and deploy the business development strategy as it relates to professional services within Americas. * Create and drive consistent DI/ETL processes and practices that support continuous growth in revenue and profitability within our existing accounts * Identify both new and existing accounts that could benefit from delivery of DI/ETL and EDM services * Keep up to date on 3rdParty DI tools capabilities (current and planned), Teradata products and DI capabilities (current and planned), and how the 3rdParty and TD capabilities intersect. * Become the DI "trusted advisor" for the customer, Teradata PS and Sales * Actively pursue knowledge transfer across the industries in order to share/evolve best practices and increase the number of consultants delivering DI/ETL services. * Lead the architecture and design of the DI/ETL environment with the specific toolset required by the client across multiple engagements. * Provide leadership guidance to the DI development team and provide input to the database designer to optimize the data loading of the physical database. * Contribute Knowledge Assets to the Teradata Knowledge Management System. * Actively participate in deal management * Establish/maintain personal credibility with clients and others * Resource Management/Scheduling and Project Management * Benchmark design, development and execution * Public Speaking & Meeting Facilitation * Willingness and ability to travel * Write white papers for DI related activities.
Required Qualifications : · 5 years or more of operational or technical RDBMS experience in data warehouse implementation Knowledge · 10 years consulting experience required. · 5 Leadership experience on ETL development projects · 3 Years experience architecting ETL Solutions within a Teradata environment. Experience working with Teradata DBMS and associated applications, including especially Teradata load utilities. · 3 years of hands-on architecture and technical leadership experience with one or more of the ETL products: Informatica, DataStage or Ab Initio. · Solid understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL vs ELT, when each are appropriate and how to blend ETL and ELT when needed. Experience sourcing from different platforms, Mainframe, Oracle, DB2 etc. · Experience in architecting, designing and integrating with at least one of the major DI Tools in a Teradata environment · Ability to understand customer needs and recommend the right solutions at the right time. · Ability to work with "C" level executives · Ability to support Sales Teams in positioning and selling ETL/DI Services to prospect and existing customers · Ability to lead, mentor and manage PS consultants across multiple ETL/DI Services engagements · Capable of leading discovery consulting sessions with executive business leaders, business analysts, end-users, and IT personnel · Knowledge of the data warehouse implementation process, from business requirements through logical modeling, physical database design, data sourcing and data transformation, data loading, SQL, end-user tools, and database implementation · Broad understanding of governance best practices for data warehousing and business intelligence · Experience and knowledge of Teradata technologies and solutions; architecture, utilities, tools and applications · Experience working with customers and understanding customer needs. · Proven ability to lead and mentor others. · Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities. · Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills. · Ability to articulate the benefits of detailed data in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment. · Organized, adaptable, a self-starter, highly motivated by challenge, and a team player. · Travel up to 70% and work in a virtual environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Data Quality/Data Profiling, Metadata Integration, Master Data Management programs and tools · Working with new features of 3rdParty ETL tools (ie. Informatica TPT-API, Informatica PDO, IBM DataStage Balanced Optimization, IBM Datastage Teradata Connector) · Knowledge of or experience with EAI and SOA architectures
