Field IT Management is accountable for field deployment and operation of Microsoft IT services in the field. The role will be based in ShangHai and manage three offices in Shanghai and remotely manage ChengDu and WuHan offices. This function ensures consistent and systematic delivery of applications and infrastructure programs and projects in the field, which support the Microsoft businesses internationally, and promote Microsoft technologies through experience and best practice sharing during IT Showcase sessions with external customers. The Site Infrastructure Services teams are the local IT presence in the field delivering the foundation services that keep the Field connected. We represent the last mile in deploying and operating the IT facilities to our customers in Subsidiaries, R&D Centers and Regional Operating Centers around the world We work with Corporate IT teams and Field IT business relationship managers to prioritize and plan the infrastructure and services roadmap for all Field locations We deliver targeted Work Smart education to enable the Field population to access the productivity available from our products and services We deliver high-impact customer engagements to support the Field in driving revenue, market share and CPE Reporting to the Area IT Manager for GCR, the IT Manager is accountable for supporting the delivery of all Infrastructure services for Microsoft in ShangHai Zizhu campus and Grand GateWay office for MSR, STBC and GTSC and SMSG business groups. Currently about 1700 users are on the Shangha sites. The IT Manager will mainly work in Zizhu campus and sometimes work in in Grand GateWay office, Shanghai. Workplace: Microsoft subsidiary in Shanghai, China Job description: Optimize IT: Working with the Area IT Manager to define IT improvements within the sites and deliver these improvements in line with regional commitments and business requirements. Operational Excellence is key requirement for our delivery of our IT Infrastructure Services. Dogfooding; Develop and execute plans for dogfooding beta products, evangelizing the products. Develop a migration plan to upgrade the sites to the latest release of MS product jointly collaborating with Business Groups on targets, timelines and readiness requirements. WorkSmart Program: Work with the Area IT Manager to identify productivity challenges onsite and develop and execute readiness plans to meet required targets and increase user productivity. Enable Revenue: Support commercial engagements by providing competitive advantage through the IT Customer Connection program. Promote Microsoft technologies through experience and best practice sharing. Rhythm of the Business; Contribute to gathering and acting on customer feedback, conducting the Quarterly business Review, Budget Planning, Monthly reporting, Attending team meetings and relevant conferences, Populating and maintaining the business Scorecard. Process Improvement and Cost Awareness: In order to align with the growth and increasing requirements of the business, agile planning and execution is required. Likewise our focus is of continuously improve our processes as well as identify cost saving/avoidance opportunities for the IT services delivered locally. Communications: Formally engage with Business Relationship Manager to support account planning and deliver against conditions of satisfaction. Promote evolution of IT services to internal and external stakeholders. Communication with Service Management to evolve services and address issues. Partner with the members of the IT Service Management function, Facility, Finance, Security to drive excellence in delivery and communications. Operations: Improve end user experience through efficient managing of operations on site, resolving issues, implementing solutions that enable distributed development, research and services Remote Management: With teams spread across Shanghai, ChengDu and Wuhan, he/she should be able to communicate effectively with business even not being on site and address tactical issues with clarity and panache.
