Job Location- Afghanistan Position Summary DRS Sustainment Systems is seeking a Supervisor and a Lead Technician for Expeditionary Water Package. The supervisor is expected to possess good communication skills, both oral and written. They must be able to establish solid working relationships with military personnel on-site, capable of setting work schedules, monitoring personnel, and identifying the tools and supplies required to operate and maintain the Water Purification/Bottling system. Must be experienced in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automotive systems and be qualified to perform the tasks required to setup/repair the Water Purification/Bottling system and its associated support equipment. Duties and Responsibilities (Lead Technician): . Responsible for monitoring, detecting, reporting and ensuring corrective measures for equipment malfunction. . Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems. . Performs the tasks required to setup the EWPS and assistance in daily cleaning routines of the EWPS. . Performs Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on support equipment. . Operates forklift for movement of palletized water bottles to warehouse. . Assists in electrical troubleshooting and repair of EWPS. . Capable of operating system for rotation shift work with primary Operators. . Performs other duties as assigned by the on-site supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities (Supervisor): . Manages the day-to-day operations of the EWPS. . Ensures operator level maintenance of equipment and inspections are performed within compliance of the established guidelines. . Ensures all appropriate operational and maintenance procedures are followed at all times. . Maintains proper accountability and inventory of water treatment, bottling equipment and supplies. . Performs a wide variety of administrative related duties and functions, to include data reports, logs sheets, Test Incident Reports (TIR), and other related forms and documents. . Establishes communication and on-going contact with on-site military personnel. . Sets work schedules, monitors personnel performance and identifies the tools and supplies required to operate and maintain the EWPS. . Capable of operating forklift for movement of palletized water bottles to warehouse. . Responsible for contact time and ensuring the Free Available Chlorine (FAC) levels of delivered water are maintained. . Responsible for collecting daily bottled water product samples for coli form, Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC), Ph, CL2, Turbidity, TDS and temperature. Responsible for monitoring and shipping shelf-life study samples to VLE. . Monitor samples and conducts routine tests for process control. . Ensures quality and safety standards are met to include: daily pre-work screenings, where hands, wellness, clothing, personal hygiene of all personnel in AO is performed. Paying special attention especially Third Country Nationals (TCNs) and Local Nationals (LNs) where applicable. . During QA procedures, the site supervisor will access the quality control of water delivered, stored and distributed . Collects, analyzes and verifies test results of delivered water and the fifty-first bottle will be tested, and operators will be notified to proceed by site supervisor. Basic Qualifications . 6-8 years experience in the operation and maintenance of Fuel and Water Systems. . General maintenance skills. (Facility wiring, HVAC Systems, motor controls, & mechanical). . Experienced in military/commercial water treatment and testing. Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge Must have good computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and be able to create status reports and track inventories.
Physical Requirements Must be able to lift heavy objects, stoop, bend, work in confined spaces, sit and stand for an extended periods.
