Field Service Representative

With the growing demand for dynamic lighting effects in upscale buildings and the global demand for energy demand reducing controls like occupancy and daylight sensors, our fast-paced division headquarters in Peachtree City, GA has several immediate opportunities in our engineering department. We are looking for highly motivated, results oriented and technically skilled individuals who will design new products to meet the increasing customer demand for innovative controls.
The Field Support Representative performs on site commissioning of lighting control products sold by Cooper Controls . This includes travel to job sites in various phases of construction to examine installation, test equipment, program equipment with desired settings, and training end users on the use and upkeep of the lighting control systems installed. This position will work closely with Phone Support to provide service to on-site customers as well as to provide Phone Support with timely reports and databases from the site commissioning in order to ensure an easy transition from Field Support to Phone Support for the end user. When not on job sites, Field Support Representatives will work with installing contractors, engineers and lighting representatives to gather the data necessary for field commissioning project scheduling as well as helping to handle overflow of phone support calls to the phone center.



PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Travel to sites to commission installed lighting control systems. This may include troubleshooting, proper installation verification, system programming and customer training.

2. Assists in the gathering of data for project commissioning, including completed panel schedule paperwork and other documents pertinent to job commissioning. May be responsible for generation of preliminary forms for commissioning as well as assisting with scheduling maintenance including contracting and managing sub-contractors to handle overflow.

3. Prepares and submits documentation regarding site visitations to the Phone Support center in order for streamlined continued support of the customer site.

4. Assists with training of additional field support representatives or lighting representatives.

5. Acts as a back up phone support representative when not commissioning projects in the field answering incoming calls regarding questions on the lighting control product line including, but not limited to, implementation of hardware and computer software in the field, programming of controllers, wiring of components and arrangement for replacement parts.

6. Special projects as required by management.

Associates Degree – Computer Technology or Electrical Engineering based focus
* Proficient knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Components
* Network + certification or like experience

* Ability to tactfully respond to questions and frame responses at an appropriate level to communicate with customer.
* Well-developed customer service skills
* Well-developed analytic ability and troubleshooting skills
* Well-developed written and oral communication skills
* Well-developed interpersonal skills
