Job Description
This is a field service position for the Machine Tool Business Unit. Experience CNC or Automation is required. Candidate must have strong electronic and PC skills and a willingness to travel 90% of time through the U.S. Customer skills are essential along with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Providing customer service and fostering customer relationships is essential to success in this position.

Performs complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls, service training to customers, complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and completes documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures.

All qualified candidates MUST have the following experience:
1. Commissioning, preventive maintenance, emergency response, consulting, warranty, repair and technical direction on industrial electrical equipment.
2. Experience with equipment and systems that may include: Low and Medium Voltage AC and DC drives; machine tools, PLC, NC, CNC, Automation and other industrial equipment.
3. Experience working with electrical measurement equipment including; multimeters, meggers, and various other electrical test equipment
4. Ability to read and understand electrical plans, specifications, drawings, and installation schematics.
5. Familiarity with electrical safety procedures including NFPA70E and OSHA regulations and the ability to follow safety procedures.
6. Ability to manage calibration and maintenance of assigned test equipment.
7. Must be self motivated and be able to lead a team of engineers and technicians to accomplish a project profitably.
8. Must work weekends and Holidays which will be determined by customer demand.

Not required but would be a plus:
1. NC Programming & PLC Programming experience
2. Siemens experience with the 840D controller desired.

Responsibilities:
Perform field service, troubleshooting and commissioning activities for machine tool customers. Provide on-site technical and operational support in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems. In addition candidate should be able to provide training to customers illustrating how to maintain electrical equipment. Develops and submits reports covering all job activity. Candidate may develop the planning and estimating of labor categories, rates, material dollar costs, transportation expenses and per diem rates to complete small proposals. Candidate should display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to electrical system problems.



Education:

Typically an Associate's degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.



Knowledge and Experience:

Successfully demonstrates thorough/ advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area. Generally, 5-8 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.



Direction of Others:

May provide general guidance to others and train lower level employees.
