Field Technician/InstallerCedar Rapids. Full Time and Part Time Positions, Point Schedule. KeyOn Communications, a wireless broadband provider headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, currently has openings for full time and part time Field Technician and Customer Support/Installers in the Cedar Rapids and surrounding area. KeyOn Communications is a dynamic, entrepreneurial company that provides high-speed, fixed wireless internet services to both residential and business customers across 12 states. This position will be responsible for the installation of a wireless internet product for residential and commercial customers, troubleshooting and resolving connectivity issues via phone and/or on-site, inventory control, Tower/network maintenance and troubleshooting and other duties as the business dictates. Make timely decisions concerning necessary steps to ensure customer satisfaction with KeyOn Equipment performance. Inform management of potential issues with recommended resolutions. Responsibilities and Functions. Has a thorough understanding and ability to solve radio frequency issues involving Line Of Sight communications. Determines computer system requirements to utilize our service. Ability to troubleshoot and understand the networking requirements of Microsoft operating systems. Experience with Apple/Mac a plus. Provides strong technical feedback to management concerning potential reasons for defective or malfunctioning equipment. Provides in depth technical support to customers. Troubleshoots all past and present KeyOn SpeedNet CPE. Provides on-site support and installation of antennas, cables, radios and related software drivers. Maintains personal callback lists in order to provide high-level customer service. Performs tower and infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting. Other responsibilities as assigned. Be able to lift and carry 40+ pounds. Be able to vertically climb in excess of 250 feet. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge and/or ability required. Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent). Must be able to pass the KeyOn tower certification course. Must be able to pass a criminal and driving back ground check. Strong PC technical background (required). Must thoroughly understand computers, operating systems, routers and LANs. Ability to learn RF technology. Ability to solve customer connectivity issues while on-site. Ablity to communicate information effectively, clearly and concisely. Ability to assist customers, make recommendations and provide information on additional products or services. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision. Speaks clearly and persuasively in all situations; listens and ask for clarification. Successful time management skills. Desire to be part of a team environment. Excellent customer service skills (friendly, enthusiastic, courteous and helpful). Ability to meet performance standards. Previous experience in satellite, cable or other types of installations preferred but not required.
