Field Technician Sr Assistant (BETSS-C Operators)
Title: Field Technician Sr Assistant (BETSS-C Operators) Location: IRAQ-BAGHDAD System Operator of BETSS-C Surveillance Protection Systems in Iraq-with field service technician skills and experience * Operate the systems assigned to BETSS-C and RAID as outlined by the Unit Commander assigned at each Area of Responsibility (AOR). * Provides on-site field support to customers including installation, operating, and maintaining all sensor systems assigned to BETSS-C and RAID at the Company level or higher. * Advise the Unit Commander on the feasibility, functionality, capabilities of the Systems assigned to the (AOR). * Complete a minimum twelve (12) month tour in South West Asia (SWA) commencing from the date of arrival in theater. * Be solely responsible for the BETSS-C Systems they are assigned to. * Provides on-site field support to customers including installation, and servicing and repairing systems and equipment. Verifies and approves operational quality of system equipment.
* Resolves customer issues in the areas of hardware installation, repair, upgrade and maintenance. Assists in investigating and resolving complex installations and maintenance matters of significance.
* Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of systems/equipment.
* Ensures issues are referred to the appropriate personnel/service areas for follow up, testing and troubleshooting.
* Acts as a liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
* Performs analysis and prepares reports on system problem trends and issues. * Perform preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on each system and its components In accordance with the operator's manual, technical and training materials. * Perform daily checks while the system is in operation. * Perform after-action checks immediately upon a change in operating environment of the system and prior to resuming the operational status of the system in the new environment. * Using a troubleshooting guide, troubleshoot systems to find faults and then articulate the precise problem in order to repair the system. * Document incidents appropriately and forward to qualified supporting maintenance personnel as necessary. * Maintain a log of maintenance performed. * Know both the Theater and AOR repair and reacquisition process of equipment that has been found faulty during PMCS. * Conduct security checks and safeguard all surveillance, targeting and fouce protection equipment pertaining to the BETSS-C family of systems within their AOR. * Operator / Maintainer will be embedded in a military unit, operating an automated day / night electro-optical infra-red sensor system through a computer based graphical user interface. * Capable of providing small group training to soldiers during Relief In Place/Take Over of Authority (RIP/TOA) * Successfully complete two weeks of training for the designated systems. * Perform operator maintenance tasks, with sufficient technical skills to follow troubleshooting procedures and convey findings to a qualified maintenance individual. * Provide all necessary training to soldiers for operation of the Sensor Systems, as required. * Work in conjunction with the unit commander on the ground to ensure all the unit's requirements for the Sensor Systems are met. * Operator / Maintainer will be embedded in a military unit, operating an automated day / night electro-optical infra-red sensor system through a computer based graphical user interface. Essential Job Functions
* Provides on-site field support to customers including installation, and servicing and repairing of systems and equipment.
* Answers customer questions and resolves issues. Refers other issues/questions to appropriate personnel/service area/manager for follow up, testing and troubleshooting.
* Assists in instructing customers in the operation and maintenance of systems/equipment.
* Acts as a liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
* Performs analyses and prepares reports on system problem trends and issues.
* Assists in applying engineering principles and practices as they relate to system design, process flow and/or discrete modeling.
* Interacts with the client's engineers, as necessary, to gather information, design changes, requirements, etc. to compile information for the overall solution design.
* Assists in translating the engineering design into software design and development of test plans to verify logic of new or modified technical programs.
* Performs testing of the final product and works with the client's engineers to assure that the product performs as planned.
* Assists in the design of basic technical programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs.
Basic Qualifications
* High school diploma or G.E.D.
* Five or more years of field support experience
* Experience working with the company's hardware, software and equipment products
* Experience working with customer technology and support requirements
* Experience working with process and/or system design concepts
* Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software
* Experience working with engineering principles and practices
Other Qualifications
* Previous experience operating or using BETSS-C Surveillance and Protection Systems, (e.g. RAID, Cerberus, TASS Annunciators, Unattended Ground Sensors, Thermal Imagery, Ground Surveillance Radar, close Circuit Television, Command and Control Systems) desired but not required. * Secret clearance required * Passport required * Military experience desired, but not required * Must be able to meet all medical requirements to deploy through the CONUS Replacement Center. Please refer to requirements at />* Must be physically fit and able to operate in harsh environmental conditions * Position requires routine movement by military air and / or gound convoy with military escort * BS in technical field and 5 years of field support experience equates to 10 years of field support experience * Interpersonal skills to work with customers and other unit personnel
