* Process requests for shipping papers via email, fax, hotline * Process requests waste label information via the hotline as needed * Query and QC EOM’s and executive summaries for all applicable clients * Properly classify hazardous materials according to 49 CFR, IATA, IMDG, and TDG * Perform Classification of MSDS (Fire Code, HMIS, and NFPA) * Perform Waste Classification on Federal and State Level * Successfully answer client queries related to state and federal waste identification, hazardous materials transportation, and fire code classification interpretation, including all applicable exceptions * Provide fire code classification and regulation interpretations * Perform QC of Transportation, Waste, and Fire Code Classification in accordance with department requirements * Function as contact for other departments and clients regarding inventory classification questions * Function as Primary Technical Contact for department clients * Train new and existing employees on department procedures and related subjects * Provide client walk-through demonstrations * Assist with Tier II and Site-Specific report delivery as needed * Compile and deliver client classification data in the expected format within the timelines agreed upon with the customer * Research regulatory updates and changes, and provide written interpretation and analysis for internal/external publication * Draft department procedures and work instructions, and maintain document control on all department internal and external publications * Resolve customer concerns in a timely manner using the appropriate communication tools (email, phone, etc.) * Support customer technical questions related to service platforms (online, on-data, offline, hotline) * Perform start-up/maintenance support as necessary for department clients * Assist Sales and Marketing with Webinars, brown bag trainings, customer conference calls, and client visits as needed * Provide training, support, and quality feedback to HRT for roll-over/after-hours Transportation Hotline assistance * Update and maintain department gauges * Maintain all department training materials (content, training records) as necessary
Qualifications:
* Excellent oral and written communication skills * Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, 3E applications) * Strong MS Access skills a plus * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Multi-tasked to meet numerous response times and deadlines * Strong organization, project management, and time management skills * Minimum 1- 2 years of customer service experience * Working knowledge of current hazardous materials regulations related to OSHA, DOT, UFC, EPA and State Waste classification and reporting requirements * Related 4 year college degree completed/in-progress or equivalent experience, including 1 year college level chemistry or equivalent * DOT Hazardous Materials Employee Certification
