Support in-house help desk teams by providing the skills listed in complete description. This is a deskside role that requires hands on network/pc interaction Complete Description: Years of Experience: 4 or more years field experience Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study Role Description: • Experience installing/reinstalling operating systems to desktop and laptop computers. • Thorough understanding of internal PC hardware. “A+” or similar certification helpful. • MCP, MCSE, or Microsoft Office certifications helpful. Experience supporting and installing Microsoft Office 2007, Windows XP and Windows 7. • Working knowledge of networking and networking terminology including TCP/IP. “Network +” or similar certification helpful. • Programming or scripting experience using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and Active Directory (ADSI). • Experience with and VBscript. • Familiarity with hard drive imaging applications such as Symantec GHOST. • Excellent “level one” information gathering skills to provide necessary information in trouble tickets for higher level support staff. • Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to escalate a call to the appropriate group for resolution. • Working knowledge of network share and NTFS file and folder permissions. • Working knowledge of research resources to solve technology problems including utilizing Microsoft TechNet. • Able to perform • Video streaming/compression formatting troubleshooting and tasks • Installation and ongoing support for iTunes software • Installation and ongoing support of media production software such as Adobe Premiere or other software. • Operational troubleshooting, installation and ongoing support for fixed and portable media storage devices, software updates, patches and troubleshooting • Installation of podcast presentation production software, such as Camtasia or other software, and equipment for the repurposing of NJDOE communications and training materials • Installation and ongoing maintenance of content production hardware such as mini-DV video cameras, desktop editing systems, and other video or audio capture devices Must be able to perform video streaming/compression formatting and troubleshooting tasks; installation and ongoing support for iTunes and other media production software; ongoing testing of content production hardware.
