Help Desk Consultant needed Location: Raleigh NC Rate: Work Hrs:The work schedule for this position will be: 1:30 PM ý 10:00 PM, Monday ý Friday The extended hours are to 10 p.m. (from 5 p.m. close of business), Monday through Friday. Contractor support is required on the ESC Information Systems Help Desk to assist UI employees with computer network and telephony problems that occur during their work hours. The current volume of calls has increased significantly as has the scope of activities supported by the Help Desk. Existing staff schedules cannot be adjusted to provide the required support without compromising current service support. The selected candidate will provide Tier I Help Desk support services to include but not limited to: ý Receipt of customer calls and e-mails ý Performing password resets for mainframe and network systems ý PC, LAN, e-mail and application problem determination and diagnosis ý Opening trouble tickets in ESCýs Help Desk (BMC Magic) system and routing to appropriate second and third tier support ý Opening trouble ticket with ITS (Information Technology Services) related to Enterprise Telephony Services and circuit services. The Help Desk supports McAfee Endpoint Encryption and Trend Micro anti-virus. The Help Desk processes and supports supervisor requests for employee access to network systems, mainframe systems, and agency data. Work will be performed under the general supervision of the Help Desk Supervisor and Computer Operations Manager. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required: ý Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience performing Information Technology Help Desk services. ý Minimum of one (1) year experience administering RACF user accounts ý Minimum of one (1) year experience administering network user accounts (Microsoft Windows Active Directory and/or Novell Directory Services) ý Proficient verbal communications skills are required since the selected candidate will be Ability to interact with ESC computer and network customers ý Capable of accurately identify problems that will be reported. Preferred: ý Experience with support of Voice Over IP (VOIP) telephonic systems (customers will be VOIP users). IMPORTANT NOTE: **The work schedule for this position will be: 1:30 PM ý 10:00 PM, Monday ý Friday. **Weekend or morning schedule may be required.
