Position Summary: Primary responsibilities of position will include:
- Providing Linux desktop support to associates in the Buenos Aires office, the Latam region and, as necessary, North American and EMEA associates. - Assisting with routing, prioritizing and categorizing of service tickets - Assisting with both writing of end-user documentation and translating into Spanish as well as maintaining internal Help Desk documentation - Assisting the Network and System Administration team regarding local service outages and liaising with local service vendors in the Buenos Aires office. Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills:
- Portuguese language skills - since this position will include phone support for both the Sao Paulo and Brasilia offices, basic understanding of Portuguese is preferred. Fluency is not required. - Experience with hardware procurement and IT vendor management
Requirements
- English Language fluency - Customer Service experience - candidates should have some professional experience in customer service. Experience related to technical support is preferred but not required - experience with an enterprise ticketing system such as RT, Heat or Remedy (Remedy preferred) - Linux desktop administration and troubleshooting skills - candidates will need to pass a basic skills test administered by the Help Desk. Desktop skills include: - installation of Linux (prefer RHEL or Fedora) - troubleshooting of graphical issues on Linux with both xorg and gnome - knowledge of Bash command shell, secure shell (SSH), pgp or OpenPGP - (GnuPG) - familiarity with Common Unix Printing system (CUPS) - experience with hardware repairs such as replacing hard drives and memory (preferably on laptop hardware)
