Apptis is looking for a Help Desk Specialist to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland!


Responsibilities:

The Information Center provides Commercial Off the Shelf software support to the SSA user community. The position is at the SSA Baltimore location.

Will also support remote users and laptops using remote access applications.
* Support end users using commercial off the shelf software.
* Maintain records, logs and reports of assistance.
* Develop documentation for common processes for both Helpdesk staff and users.
* Support laptops and remote users with remote access applications.

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum two years’ experience.
* HDI and MS certifications desired. Additional certifications and education a plus.
* Must have Windows XP/2003/VISTA, MS Office support skills, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
* High level of proficiency in basic computer skills with a passion for technology.
* A commitment to continuing education to strengthen skills and broaden expertise.
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
* Ability to learn new skills quickly.
* Ability to multi-task in a sometimes hectic environment.
* Ability to work in a team environment with multiple priorities while staying a team player.
* Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
* Demonstrate a proven ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with all levels of SSA staff and management.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (XP/2003/VISTA).
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (2003/2007).
* Ability to analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues including software and OS issues.
* General knowledge of Symantec Ghost Imaging Software a plus.
* General knowledge of HEAT Help Desk Ticketing System a plus.
* Must have ability to troubleshoot and diagnose PC Hardware/Software problems and problems with equipment (e.g., cables, terminals, keyboards, etc.).

Must possess the ability to analyze and diagnose technical issues.
