ICD-9 and 10 Claims Business Analyst

Perficient is currently looking for ICD 9 and 10 Claims Business Analyst located in our Detroit, Michigan office.
The ICD 9 and 10 Claims BA will plan, organize, monitor and audit analytical activities according to ICD-10 program requirements and departmental priorities.  Provide assistance in obtaining, analyzing and compiling data for the recoding of inpatient medical records from ICD-9 to ICD-10. Perform claim analysis and other assignments as required to meet program goals and objectives.
The consultant will also plan, organize, direct and coordinate analytical recoding assignments.  Research and respond to complex issues.  Review responses and other correspondence to ensure they are accurate, appropriate and complete.  Obtain claim documents for all lines of Local and other data files as assigned.  Report progress to leadership and communicate audit issues and results to leadership.  Coordinate and attend business meetings as requested by leadership.

Qualified candidates will meet the following guidelines:

. Must be a Registered Health Information Technologist or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIT or RHIA)
. A CCS (certified coding specialist through AHIMA) only will be considered depending upon educational background
. Specialty certification of CCS, CCS-P preferred
. Must be knowledgeable in use of ICD-9 code books and should have two years of experience coding medical records in an inpatient hospital setting using ICD-9-CM.
. Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or Associate's degree in Health Information Technology preferred
. Two (2) to four (4) years coding experience in an inpatient hospital setting, with a thorough understanding of coding both diagnoses and procedures in ICD-9-CM code set
. Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills
. Ability to analyze, investigate and organize ideas in recognizing, defining and formulating solutions to problems.
. Ability to effectively interface with all levels of client's personnel, external auditors and customers.
. Knowledge of generally accepted auditing principles and theories.
. Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (e.g. Word, Excel and Microsoft Office)
. Ability to work independently, within a team environment and handle multiple priorities
. Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
 
This is a full time position with Perficient.  Please note, 1099 or corp-2-corp contractors will NOT be considered.
