Job Description::
Our internal marketing department is looking for a detail-oriented intern to support business development efforts and maintain electronic information resources in our downtown Chicago office. Tasks will include but are not limited to data maintenance, verification, and entry; document processing; writing and editing; project-specific assignments; and desktop graphics support as required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will gather, organize, and maintain information from many sources; ensure consistency and accuracy in handling information; and coordinate established business development priorities. The intern will support maintenance of Parsons' marketing and business development database and assist with developing and maintaining an online content system for project awards, technical project descriptions, client testimonials, and related documents. Responsibilities will also include maintaining well-organized electronic documents and communication, responding in a timely manner to assigned tasks, processing reports, and processing graphic resources using various computer applications. Additional responsibilities may include research, file processing, scanning, electronic document collation, and desktop publishing.
Qualifications
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
College junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, English, communications, or business administration, along with 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Must have excellent writing and editing skills, and a minimum GPA of 3.5.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required, along with superior oral and written communication skills. The applicant must be able to demonstrate proficiency in and knowledge of MS Windows and related software for desktop publishing, graphics, word processing, and spreadsheets. Knowledge and experience working with relational databases and/or Web-based systems in a network environment is a plus. The applicant must have the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks as required, and demonstrate initiative when appropriate.
